Key Features

Thread cutter

Easy cutting of threads when removing the sewing project from the machine. Upper and lower threads are safely secured without interlooping until the next time you sew.

Freearm

The especially slim freearm enables easy and flawless sewing of tubular items such as children‘s clothing, sleeves, cuffs, collars and trouser hems.

Buttonhole

Sewing standard buttonholes in six steps couldn’t be easier. Add gimp for corded buttonholes to give them a professional raised look.

Stitch width and needle positions

Simply use the appropriate dials to infinitely adjust stitch width between 1 and 5 mm and to choose from 3 needle positions.

Presser feet

Presser foot soles to suit any task, with easy, one-handed changing of the sole The most frequently used presser foot soles are supplied as standard. Additional soles are available from BERNINA‘s comprehensive range of accessories.

Stitch selection

The stitch selection chart tells you which presser foot, needle position and stitch length and width best suit the selected stitch.

Stitch length

Infinitely adjustable stitch length. Use the setting wheel to adjust the stitch length as wished – any length from 0 to 5mm.

Feed-dog drop

Some sewing tasks do not require automatic feeding. Turn the setting wheel to lower the feed-dog. The fabric can then be freely guided and fed under needle exactly as you wish - for darning, freemotion quilting or even freemotion embroidery.

Bobbin winder

For even winding of your bobbins. The winding stops automatically when the bobbin is full and the thread can be cut effortlessly on the thread-cutter located beside the post.
